Picking the right home care provider is a critical decision that can make a significant difference to your quality of life and well-being. When selecting a home care provider, it is crucial to ensure that they are registered, experienced, and can deliver the specific services that you require.
The best agency will listen to what you want and need, develop a one-to-one individualised care plan, and give you care that is personalised as your needs change. Personalisation and flexibility are most important in homecare. You may also want to compare the agency’s reputation, the training and experience of the staff they provide, and the services they are able to provide and be content with the quality of care given.
Also, it is important to confirm that the caregiver knows the local community and is able to give you the services appropriate to the needs of the local community. There should also be communication and understanding between you, your caregiver, and your family to ensure that you receive the best possible care.
We are
We understand that every individual is distinct. Our services are adaptable to give you the level of focus you want, either on a temporary or full-time basis. We work together to craft a personalized strategy to fit your schedule and lifestyle.
Personal: We treat every client as an individual, and your individualized plan of care will reflect your unique needs and preferences. Our caregivers get to know their clients as friends, and provide not only professional care, but understanding and companionship as well.
Trained: With extensive experience working in the field of home care, our caregivers are highly qualified to meet an array of needs. From personal to medical to specialty, our staff is trained to provide excellent care.
Empowering: Our aim is to enable individuals to do things their own way and keep their independence. We work with our clients so they are in control of their own affairs, and they make decisions most suited to their needs.
We are particularly proud to have our carer team, and these caring individuals form the cornerstone of the work we do, ensuring that every client receives the best possible level of care, as required by their individual needs. Not only do our carers get chosen based on their professional training and certifications, but also on their ability to form strong, positive connections with individuals whom they provide their carer’s services to. We understand how important trust is and therefore take utmost precautions to make our carers not only competent but also caring, empathetic, and understanding towards every individual to whom they lend their services.
Our staff have extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of caring, ranging from personal, dementia, palliative, and rehabilitation. All our carers are thoroughly vetted to allow us to provide safety and reassurance to the families we work with. Our carers’ training is constantly revised to keep them abreast of the latest techniques and methods in caring so they can deliver the best possible standard of service in the comfort and safety of your own home.
We also have all our carers specially trained to assist with activities of daily living, from help with mobility, medication, meal preparation, and personal hygiene to keeping them company. In whatever level that may be, either a few hours a week or full-time, our carers work together with the client and their families to establish an individualized care plan that reflects personal preferences and needs.
Our carers understand as well the importance of caring not just for the cared individual, but also their relatives. They work on a team basis, with other health workers and other supporting services, to provide continuity of care and the overall health and welfare of the client. Your relatives will be in good, caring hands with our home carers.
You might find it daunting to navigate the variety of funding sources available to fund the home care services, but have no worry, we will guide you through them. They range from government and non-governmental sources, and every one is designed to meet the needs of individuals with special needs, based on their eligibility and situation.
Government-sponsored
Home Care Packages
Home Care Packages (HCP) is an integral component of the Australian Government strategy to help keep older Australians at home for as long as possible. The packages provide funding to support individualized services to help with daily living, personal care, and other basic needs. Home Care Packages are rated under four levels of needs, from Level 1 (for basic level needs) to Level 4 (for high level needs). The funding under the Home Care Packages Program is distributed by an approved home care provider, such as our organization, to cover the individual’s requirements.
Eligibility to receive a Home Care Package is determined by assessment by the ACAT based on the individual’s specific needs and circumstances. Approval, and the funding is subsequently paid to the individual, allowing them to organize a provider to provide the services.
NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme)
The NDIS is offering funding to individuals with disabilities to buy services and support to lead an independent life. The funding is given to individuals below the age of 65, and they have to meet certain eligibility requirements. The eligible individuals can avail themselves of services towards personal care, therapy, assistive technology, and transport to reach the services.
The funding under the NDIS is tailored to the individual needs and requirements, and the individual, together with their support coordinator or their plan manager, develops an individualized plan that is appropriate to their aspirations and goals. By doing so, the funding is best utilized to meet individual personal needs and enhance the quality of the individual’s life.
Non-governmentally funded
Private Home Care
For others, especially those not eligible to receive government funding or who do not want to deal with the public system, private home care is an appropriate option. Private home care allows individuals to fund their own care, with more choice and more control over what type and level of services they want.
Private in-home care is particularly appealing to special needs individuals whose needs are not adequately addressed by government sources, or to individuals and families who prefer to establish services without government interference. Private in-home care will also be suitable to individuals who do not have extensive needs but do have intermittent assistance in daily activities or respite care.
Private care may be arranged on an hourly basis or under a formal contract, as appropriate to the needs. Our business provides individualized private care, tailored to suit every individual’s requirement, taking into account the individual’s lifestyle, their own preferences, and their own budget to put together their own individualized care plan.
The first part, choosing the home care services for yourself or your loved one, is the hardest. We understand that navigating the system can be overwhelming, but we will do our best to simplify the process and make it as stress-free as possible.
The first step is to get your needs sorted out. Take a bit of time to think about what is required, from daily living needs, through to personal care, and more specialist needs, including medical. Contact our team, and we will guide you through your personal situation and outline what is possible.
Should you be seeking government funding, say Home Care Packages or NDIS, the subsequent action will be to organize an assessment by the relevant body. To do so for Home Care Packages, you will contact the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT), while to organize a NDIS one, you can contact a NDIS planner to arrange a discussion regarding eligibility. We can help you complete an application and work through the process.
Once funding is secured, we will work together with you to establish a tailored care plan, taking into account your needs and preferences. We will present you with a suitable carer, and we will do our best to make your experience as smooth and enjoyable as possible from the beginning.
We are able to provide private in-home care if you prefer, where we guide you through the process of determining the appropriate services to meet your budget and needs. Since we are adaptable, we can adjust levels and services as your needs shift in the course of time.
Wherever you are in your journey, we stand by to help. We pride ourselves in being able to bring a quality of care that you can sense and that makes a real difference to the lives we touch, and we stand prepared to help you to make your way to a better quality of life.
