With our Supported Independent Living (SIL) services, we work in close partnership with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) to ensure that you receive support and accommodation that allows you to live as independent a life as possible.

SIL (Supported Independent Living)

This includes support in day-to-day routines such as personal care, house maintenance, social interaction, and learning new skills.
We engage in partnership with each person to develop a support plan that is uniquely tailored to their individual goals and requirements, ensuring that they receive required support whilst also encouraging their independence. Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA)
For those in need of short to medium-term accommodation arrangements in order to move towards more permanent housing options, our Medium-Term Accommodation (MTA) in Railway Estate is a practical, support-oriented option. The MTA is suitable for those in need of short-term accommodation until more permanent arrangements can be found or for those in need of a short period of respite to adjust to new situations.
While in MTA, people are given constant support to support independent living, which is provided in line with their individual care plan. The transitional service provides a support structure of stability around a person to enable their progression towards more permanent housing options.
Short-Term Accommodation (STA)
Our Short-Term Accommodation (STA) in Railway Estate is a short-term respite option for those in need of short-term stays in a secure, support-oriented environment, ideal for those with disabilities. - Supervisory support of getting in and out of bed: Mobility support is of high concern to many participants. Our team is skilled to transfer participants safely in and out of bed, or between a wheelchair or other devices, to transfer between bed, wheelchair, or other equipment without discomfort or injury.
- Supervisory support of medications: We facilitate managing medications to be taken at the right time and in the right dosage. Our staff is skilled to provide reminders, administration, and monitoring to allow participant health needs to be met precisely and with attention.
- Skilling up in day-to-day living capabilities with training: We facilitate participants to learn basic day-to-day living capabilities such as meal preparation, housecleaning, and other self-hygiene routines. With one-on-one training, our aim is to allow participants to become more independent, self-reliant, and self-assured, to live their lives to their potential.
- Assistance with housework, such as shopping or laundry: We provide support to participants in day-to-day housework such as cleaning, washing, and shopping. By providing support in such areas, participants can live in a home that is comfortable, learn home management, and be independent in their home.
- Social learning: Social interaction is a fundamental aspect of social inclusion in society. We support participants to learn social skills, become more self-assured, and interact more appropriately with other people. This includes helping to facilitate interaction, build relationships, and decode social signals, in a caring and safety-oriented environment.
- Social group work between housemates: We provide various social group work such as outings, craft, and games to allow participants to socialise with their housemates. Social groups facilitate social networks, team work, and support to each other, reinforcing a sense of belonging to a community.
- Meal preparation and preparation of healthy food that tastes delicious: We support participants in meal preparation, such as meal preparation and meal planning. The aim is to allow participants to prepare healthy, satisfying meals, learning useful cookery skills in the process. Such support allows participants to enjoy a variety of food options that support their health and wellbeing.
- Implementation of behavioural support plans: In instances of participants in need of behavioural support, we work in close partnership with participants and their support team to design and put in place individualised behaviours support plans. - Medical appointment support: We support participants to attend medical consultations, provide transport, and support participants to receive support beforehand, during, and after their consultations. The team also facilitates participants to interact with health practitioners and to be educated on health advice.

- Support with supervision, security, and safety: Constant supervision, in particular of participants of higher needs, is ensured to give a sense of safety and security in their home lives. From day-to-day safety to reacting to crises, our concern is to create a sense of security.
- Support to use transport in your neighbourhood: We enable participants to use transport in their neighbourhood, enabling participants to move around safely and independently. We instruct participants to use a route planner, timetable, and various transport systems in their neighbourhood.

Budget is planned in consultation with each participant to devise a system that is personalized to their needs, ensuring that participants feel in control of money.
- Social activity planning you enjoy: Staff help participants in social activity planning, such as a hobby, outing, or social function. Attempts are made to devise a set of social options that meet their interest, ensuring that their social lives become enriching and satisfying.
- Household roster and activity arrangement: Support is given to participants to devise a household roster and schedule to co-ordinate work, activity, and appointment, keeping participants in order and ensuring that all aspects of day-to-day living is taken care of in a time-saving manner.
