What is Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living program enables a person with disability the chance of independent life with the support and assistance they need in a position to bloom. SIL enables the individual with the option of living either in a private home of their own or a shared home and be provided with individual support that caters to the individual needs and dreams of the individual.
SIL is also provided within a shared household setting in that the participant will live with the rest of the members of the NDIS although it will also be provided within independent residential placements if that becomes the need. The individual will be provided with the support they need and with the hope of giving them the chance of carrying out independent activities such as cleaning and preparation of food and the management of finances with the advice and help of the highly skilled staff at Care with Care.
SIL services are focused on assisting individuals in acquiring life skills, social participation in the community, and attaining higher levels of independence. The support may comprise personal care needs, daily tasks help, behaviour support strategies, and a lot of additional support.
